Course description

This course will focus specifically on battery energy storage systems (BESS), which are becoming increasingly important in the energy storage landscape. Students would learn about the various types of batteries used in BESS, including lithium-ion, lead-acid, and flow batteries, and the different factors that influence their performance, including capacity, efficiency, and cycle life. The course will cover the design and operation of BESS, the various applications of BESS, and the challenges and opportunities associated with its implementation.
